Lance D. Like is a Bloomington, Indiana attorney, has been Board Certified as an Estate Planning and Administration Specialist and is an Accredited Attorney with the Veteran’s Administration. Lance has extensive experience in the areas of estate and wealth transfer planning, asset protection planning, elder law, Medicaid planning, long-term care planning, probate and trust administration, business succession planning, business formation and operation, and real estate. In his estate, wealth transfer planning, and elder law representation, Lance works closely with individuals and families to craft comprehensive and customized plans. These plans have helped hundreds of clients and their families address life issues, deal with death, resolve conflict, and leave a legacy.
Lance also works with business owners in all aspects of their business matters, such as choosing the appropriate type of business entity, formation issues, tax matters, contract drafting, employment issues, and business succession planning matters.
A native Hoosier, Lance completed his undergraduate work at the University of Evansville and then graduated cum laude from the Indiana University School of Law. Lance is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, an organization of premier providers of legal advocacy, guidance, and services to enhance the lives of individuals as they age and for those individuals with special needs, regardless of age. He is a founding member of WealthCounsel, LLC, a nationwide collaboration of trusts and estates professionals dedicated to client service and continuing education, ElderCounsel, a national organization of elder law and special needs planning lawyers, and The Advisors Forum, an interdisciplinary organization comprised of attorneys, accountants, insurance advisors, and financial advisors who work together to develop processes and procedures to better serve estate and business planning clients. The Advisors Forum also fosters an atmosphere for education where each of the various professions can better learn the role each plays in serving the client’s needs. Lance is a member, and a two-time past president, of the Hoosier Hills Estate Planning Council, the American Bar Association, the Indiana Bar Association and the Monroe County Indiana Bar Association. Through his various professional memberships Lance can offer the most advanced planning techniques available and has access to the nation’s experts on a variety of estate and business planning issues.
